Privacy Policy — New Year Chat App

Thank you for using New Year Chat, developed by LengerApps.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application "New Year Chat" (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary for the App to function properly:

1.1. Data from Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication)

• Your display name from your Google account
• Email address (if provided by Google Sign-In)
• Unique Firebase User ID (UID)

1.2. Chat Data (stored in Firebase Firestore)

• Display name and message text that you voluntarily send in the public chat
• Timestamp of each message

All chat messages are publicly visible to other users of the App and are stored in Firebase Firestore.

1.3. Microphone Data

The App requests microphone permission only to detect blow strength in real time for controlling the interactive snow animation effect. No audio is recorded, saved, stored, or transmitted to any servers. All processing happens locally on your device and data is discarded immediately.

1.4. Automatically Collected Data

• Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID, device model, OS version) — used exclusively for serving personalized advertisements via Google AdMob
• Anonymous usage and performance analytics (via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

• Authenticate users via Google Sign-In and display names in the chat
• Enable real-time public chat functionality
• Power the interactive snow animation based on local microphone input
• Display relevant advertisements (via Google AdMob)
• Collect anonymous analytics to improve app performance and fix crashes
• Provide technical support when needed

3. Disclosure and Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.

Your data is shared only with Google services that act as our data processors under strict agreements:

• Firebase Authentication — for user sign-in
• Firebase Firestore — for storing chat messages and user profiles
• Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements (this includes sharing Advertising ID and approximate location derived from IP address)
• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics — for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports

We may disclose data only if required by law, such as in response to valid legal requests from government authorities.

4. Data Security

All personal data is stored securely in Google's infrastructure (Firebase). We do not maintain our own servers for user data. Data in transit is protected with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Microphone input is processed entirely on-device and never leaves your phone.

5. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to control your data, including requesting deletion.

• In-App Deletion: You can delete your account directly in the App. Go to the menu, tap the "Delete account" button, and confirm your choice. This action instantly and permanently removes all your data (name, email, UID, and all associated chat messages) from our systems.
• Web Request: You can also submit a data deletion request via our dedicated Google Form: https://forms.gle/719D7fvn7oHUdXQt7
  Please fill in your email used in the app (required), optionally your guest ID (if applicable) from the "About the app" section, and the reason for deletion (optional). We will process your request and delete all associated personal data (name, email, UID, chat history) within 7 days. The data will be deleted permanently and irreversibly.

Additionally:

• You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings (Android Advertising ID reset/opt-out).
• You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your device settings.

We will honor all valid deletion requests in compliance with applicable laws (including GDPR where relevant).

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will be posted here with the updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
